Asus unveils dual OS Transformer Book Duet TD300

Asus has announced the Transformer Book Duet TD300 with Android 4.1 and Windows 8.1 dual OS.



The Transformer Book Duet is powered by Intel i3, Intel i5 or Intel i7 processors depending which version you choose. It has a 13.3" display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels or Full HD resolution.

Asus announces 8" Windows 8 tablet with Wacom pen

Asus has announced new 8" Windows 8 tablet - the Asus VivoTab Note 8. The VivoTab Note 8 comes with Wacom stylus, a 8" 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, 2 GB of RAM, 5 MP camera and a HD front-facing camera.



The tablet is powered by Bay Trail Atom Chip clocked at 1.86 GHz. The Wacom stylus can purportedly deal with 1,000 pressure levels, making this a potentially enticing device for artists and users who are looking for a more true-to-life longhand writing experience. In the Windows tablet landscape, there really isn’t anything else like it, so it makes sense for ASUS to push the Wacom stylus’ technology.

Asus announces Zenfone series

Asus has announced a bunch of Zenfones with 4", 5" and 6" display. These three devices are all powered by Intel Atom processor and all are dual-SIM smartphones too.

And so here we go, the Zenfone 4 is the smallest among the 3 of them. It has a 4" TFT LED Backlight with WVGA resolution.



The phone is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Z2520 processor with 1 GB of RAM. At the back it has a 5 MP camera and there's also a front-facing camera too. The phone has 4 GB internal storage with microSD card slot. The Zenfone 4 also has a 1,170 mAh battery and it is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Asus ZenUI. The phone is also upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat and it has black, white, red, yellow and blue colours.

Asus Padfone mini goes official with dual-SIM capability

The rumors are over, Asus has made the Padfone mini official. Just as its bigger brother, the Padfone mini is a combination of smartphone and tablet.



The Asus Padfone mini is a 4.3" mid-ranger, it has a smaller display with qHD resolution (256 ppi) and Super IPS unit. It is powered by 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 MSM8226 chipset with 1 GB of RAM.

Google adds new colour for Nexus 7 and Google Play Edition devices - Sony Xperia Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3

Google has added new Google Play Edition devices to its store, the first one is the giant Sony Xperia Z Ultra with the 6.44" Full HD Triluminos display.



Nothing change from the original Xperia Z Ultra but the user interface, it has the same Snapdragon 800 SoC inside with 2 GB of RAM, 8 MP camera, 16 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 3,050 mAh battery and the 6.5 mm slim IP58 certified body. The Xperia Z Ultra GPE runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with stock Android UI.

Asus holds an event on 11st of December for the Padfone mini

It seems that Asus has decided to enter the "mini" phone war, Asus has hold an even on 11st of December in Taiwan for new device announcement.



From the press invite above, you can see that the press event is for the Padfone mini official announcement. The Padfone mini is said to feature a 4.3" display with qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels), and the dock station will be having 7" display with resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

Asus Fonepad 7 (8 GB variant) available in Malaysia starts from tomorrow

Few months ago, the 16 GB variant of Asus Fonepad 7 was available in Malaysia for RM 999. And now Asus Malaysia has finally bring the 8 GB variant of Fonepad 7 to Malaysian market.


The 8 GB variant of the Fonepad 7 is priced at RM 749 and the consumers will be able to purchase it on upcoming KL PIKOM PC Fair from tomorrow onwards.

Google Nexus 7 cellular now getting Android 4.4 KitKat update

After Google released the KitKat update to the Nexus 4, the Nexus 7 LTE finally received the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Both 2012 and 2013 edition should get the update soon.


The update does bring some improvements such as smoother UI thanks to Project Svelte, better RAM management and more.

Asus Malaysia reduces the pricing of the MeMO Pad HD 7

Asus Malaysia has announced that there will be a new pricing for the Asus MeMO Pad HD 7. The MeMO Pad HD 7 is now at a lower pricing of RM 599, which dropped from RM 649.


According to Asus Malaysia, the new pricing will commence from today onwards. Specs wise, the Asus MeMO Pad has a quad-core processor and 1GB RAM for smooth social networking and web browsing. It has a 7" IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

Asus Fonepad Note 6 will available in Malaysia start from mid-November

Back to June, Asus has announced the Fonepad Note 6 at Computex 2013 event. The Fonepad Note 6 is a 6" phablet that comes with a stylus, which got a slot for it. The phablet has a 6" LED backlight display with Full HD resolution.

Inside the Fonepad Note 6 is a 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor with 2 GB of RAM. The phablet has 16/32 GB internal storage with 5 GB Life Time Asus Webstorage and there's microSD card slot too.

Looks like Asus Malaysia finally ready to bring in the new Google Nexus 7 to Malaysia. Asus Malaysia has listed the Google Nexus 7 (2013) in product guide. The Wi-Fi only 16 GB variant will retail at RM 999, while the Wi-Fi + LTE 32 GB variant will priced at RM 1,299.



The pricing of the new Nexus 7 are same as what we expected when it was announced. It's a great competitor the the Apple iPad mini and also a good deal to purchase it.

[IFA 2013] Asus announces four new tablets

Asus has also announced a ton of new devices - a number of Android-powered tablet and phablets at IFA 2013, Berlin. Asus did not announced smartphone but the new Tranformer Pad, MeMO Pad 10, MeMO Pad 8 and Fonepad 7.

The new Transformer Pad has dropped the "Infinity" naming, it is a Nvidia Tegra 4 powered device - 1.9 GHz quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU and 72-core GeForce GPU. The tablet has a 10.1" IGZO-TFT IPS display with 2560 x 1600 resolution similar to the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition). The display comes with manual colour control too (white balance and saturation).



The Transformer Pad TF701T has metal body measures at 8.9 mm thich and weighs 585 g. The tablet has 5 MP rear camera with 1080p HDR video recording and 1.2 MP front camera. It also features dual speakers with SonicMaster technology. The tablet can output UHD video over a wired HDMI connection or mirror its screen wirelessly thanks to the Miracast protocol. The Mobile dock enables USB 3.0 connectivity. This dock also features a full QWERTY keyboard in the usual Transformer manner and boosts the battery life to a whopping 17 hours (up from 13 hours) (also it adds an SDXC card slot).

Asus Malaysia confirms Google Nexus 7 (2013) expected arrive Malaysia in mid-September

Google Nexus 7 (2013) was announced last month, it is a huge upgrade from the previous generation of Nexus 7. During yesterday Asus Malaysia's launch event, the company have confirmed that the 2013 Google Nexus 7 is coming to Malaysia soon.


According to ASUS Malaysia’s Country Product Manager for Tablets,  Li Huai Pin,  the 2013 Google Nexus 7 is expected to be in Malaysia sometime in mid-September. However, he is not able to confirm the device's price tag at the moment.

Google Nexus 7 2 by Asus goes official

The Google's event brought new Nexus tablet - Nexus 7 2. It is a 7" tablet that runs on pure Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and improves a lot from the first generation Nexus 7.



The new Nexus 7 is smaller than the previous generation, the tablet is 1.8 mm slimmer, 2.8 mm of the bezels on both sides have been shaved off and it is 50 g lighter. The tablet has an upgraded screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels with 320 ppi pixel density. It's the highest resolution 7" display on a tablet and the screen also promise a 30% wider colour gamut.

[Computex 2013] Asus unveiled Transformer Book Trio, VivoPC and VivoMouse

Asus has officially announced the Transformer Book Trio at Computex 2013. The Transformer Book Trio is a 3 in 1 mobile device, which dual-boots Windows 8 and Android and aims to give you a netbook, a tablet and a Windows 8 desktop PC in one device.


The Transformer Book Trio has a 11.6" detachable display and the PC Station dock has an Intel Core i7 processor, keyboard and a 750 GB hard drive. The tablet display can be detached and the main part can be hooked to an external display to use as a desktop PC.

The PC Station can also be used as a charger for the tablet for extending the battery life. The tablet features a 2 GHz Intel Atom processor, 64 GB inbuilt memory and a 1920 x 1080o Full HD display. The Transformer Book has a unique ability to switch between operating systems and gain access to over 700,000 apps in the Google Play Store and over 50,000 apps in the Windows Store.

[Computex 2013] Asus announced Fonepad Note

Asus not only announced tablet, they also announced the new phablet - Asus Fonepad Note. The Fonepad Note was a 6" phablet with 1080p Full HD display.


The Fonepad Note is just like the original Fonepad, it is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor with 2 GB of RAM, and there's also a PowerVR SGX544 MP2 GPU.

The 6″ Super IPS+ screen has 1080p resolution for a big increase in pixel density- 367 ppi vs. 216 ppi for the 7″ WXGA screen of the tablet. The screen is rated at 450 nits of brightness and works with an S-Pen like stylus and dedicated Asus apps.
