Sony Xperia Z1 Compact goes official, a mini version of Xperia Z1

CES 2014 has started and Sony is the first manufacturer to announce their latest smartphone - the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is also known as Xperia Z1 mini, which is the international version of Xperia Z1 f.

Unlike other "mini" device, the Xperia Z1 Compact has all same specs as its bigger brother. However it has a smaller 4.3" display with 720p display and smaller 2,300 mAh battery.

Sony Sirius might coming to CES with Snapdragon 805 processor

Sony is said to be launching two flagship devices this year, and the first flagship device is reportedly coming to CES which is just two days away.



The device is codenamed as Sirius and it is said to be having 5.2" 2K display with Snapdragon 805 chipset. Other specs are include 3 GB of RAM, 20.7 MP camera with Sony G lens, Android 4.4 KitKat and 3,500 mAh battery.

Sony China holds a press event for Xperia Z1 mini on January 14th

The Sony Xperia Z1 mini has been rumored since the Xperia Z1 was announced in last year IFA. Well the CES 2014 is just few days away and today Sony China has sent out an invitation for a press event.



The first thought when we saw this press invite was the Xperia Z1 mini, as the Japanese version Xperia Z1 f is available in yellow, black, white and pink colours. The invitation has proved that the Xperia Z1 mini will be launching soon and we expect it will make its own debut in CES 2014, and it will launch in China on January 14th.

Google adds new colour for Nexus 7 and Google Play Edition devices - Sony Xperia Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3

Google has added new Google Play Edition devices to its store, the first one is the giant Sony Xperia Z Ultra with the 6.44" Full HD Triluminos display.



Nothing change from the original Xperia Z Ultra but the user interface, it has the same Snapdragon 800 SoC inside with 2 GB of RAM, 8 MP camera, 16 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 3,050 mAh battery and the 6.5 mm slim IP58 certified body. The Xperia Z Ultra GPE runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with stock Android UI.

Refreshed version of Sony Xperia Z1 leaks

Looks like a new Sony device is on its way, a new Xperia smartphone has appeared next to the Xperia Z1. It may be a refreshed version of the Xperia Z1 or maybe another new device from Sony.



From the image above, you can see that the device is taller than the Xperia Z1 and the 3.5 mm jack has been relocated at the center. It may be the rumored Xperia Z1s, previously the Xperia Z1s is said to be the international version of Xperia Z1f a.k.a the Xperia Z1 mini, but through last leak of Xperia Z1 mini suggested that the Xperia Z1 mini will not be called as Xperia Z1s.

The Sony Xperia Z1 is currently available in black, white and purple. However the red version of the Xperia Z1 was spotted and the handset is running on Android 4.4 KitKat.



No word on the release date of the red Xperia Z1 but assume that it will go official alongside with the Xperia Z1s.

It's another day and another leak of the Xperia Z1s, it seems that the Xperia Z1s loves to stick with its bigger brother. Today, a bunch of live photos of Xperia Z1s next to the Xperia Z1 leaked.

The Xperia Z1s is said to launch in the first quarter of next year, there's also a possibility that the Xperia Z1s could launch in these few weeks. Price wise the Xperia Z1s is said to be at RMB 2,600 which is around RM 1,899.

Sony hints Xperia SP will get Android 4.4 KitKat update; Xperia T, Xperia TX, Xperia V and Xperia ZR are "Under Investigation"

Earlier this month Sony has announced the Android 4.3/4.4 update plans for its devices. Sony has stated that Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z will getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update after the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, while Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia TX, Xperia V and Xperia ZR will stuck at Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Recently Sony did not confirmed that another five Xperia smartphones (Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia TX, Xperia V and Xperia ZR) will not getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Today there's a news said that the Xperia SP will get to taste the chocolate while the remaining four devices are "Under Investigation".

Xperia SP's support page suggest it will get the Android KitKat update.

Sony Xperia Z1s gets sized up against its bigger brother again

After the first meet with its bigger brother, the Xperia Z1s continue sized up against its bigger brother. This time around, the image does said that it will not be called as Xperia Z1s. According to the source, the handset is named as Xperia Amami, but it may be the code name for the Xperia Z1s that hasn't confirmed by Sony just yet.



Not much details have been revealed except the side of the handset. According to the image above, you can see that the handset is quite similar to the Xperia Z1 despite in smaller size and do not have the flap covered slot.

Sony QX10 lens-style camera available in Malaysia for RM 699

The Sony QX10 lens-style camera finally arrived Malaysian market, it is priced at RM 699.



The QX10 has a 18.2 MP 1/2.3″ Exmor R sensor that’s mated with its very own Sony G Lens. As comparison, the higher end QX100 comes with a larger 1.0″ sensor that shoots 20.9 MP and Carl Zeiss 7 elements lens. It also comes with Optical Zoom of 3.6X, as opposed to the QX10′s 10X Optical Zoom.

Sony Xperia Z1s appears next to its bigger brother

The Sony Xperia Z1s has made another unofficial appearance. This time around, the Xperia Z1s appeared next to its bigger brother. The mini version of a flagship appeared next to its bigger brother become quite common in a leak, as HTC and Samsung have did it before.

The small flagship is said to be using IPS display panel instead of TFT display. Judging from the image above, I found that the viewing angle of the Xperia Z1s looks dimmer than usual.

Sony Xperia Z1s leaks continue go on

After the first camera sample of Xperia Z1s leaked, it seems that the mini version of the Xperia Z1 just can't stop to show itself in front of camera. The Xperia Z1s has shown its face once again in front of camera.

From the leaked images, you can see that the Xperia Z1s looks identical to its bigger brother but there are some different from the previous leaked image. However the design still looks same as Xperia Z1 and of course the Xperia Z1s will be waterproofing too. The side of the phone has two pins for charging via a dock, which is similar to the Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra.

First Sony Xperia Z1s camera sample leaks

Sony did not announced the Xperia Z1s yesterday, this means that the Xperia Z1s will continue leak in the future. This time around, the first camera sample of the Xperia Z1s leaked. The camera sample comes with .EXIF data pointing to a Sony D5503 device, which some sources claim is the Xperia Z1s under new Sony's numbering scheme after the C690X - Xperia Z1.





The firmware version of the .EXIF data is 14.2.A.0.204, which is said that based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Sony Xperia Z1S is the Xperia Z1 mini, first live photo leaks

The Sony Xperia Z1S is still an unofficial Xperia smartphone, it is said to be the T-Mobile variant of Xperia Z1 or the international variant of Xperia Z1. Previous leaks have revealed how will the Xperia Z1S looks like, today the Xperia Z1S finally appeared in a live photo for first time.

The leaked live photo above looks similar to the previous press render of Xperia Z1S that published by evleaks earlier. The live photo was found accidentally in Sony's website and it is not the already announced Japan-bound Xperia Z1 f. You can see that the front-facing camera on the Xperia Z1 f is on its right side, while here the camera is on the left. Moreover, there is no logo for NTT DoCoMo, something that’s found on the Xperia Z1 f.
