[IFA 2013] Lenovo announces Vibe X with 6.9 mm thin

Lenovo has announced the new Vibe X ultra-thin smartphone. At 6.9 mm thin and 120 g weighing, the device is hard to believe to sports a 5" Full HD display.




The Vibe X is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage. There's a 13 MP camera at the back and a 5 MP front-facing shooter with a 84-degree viewing angle for video conferencing.

[IFA 2013] Asus announces four new tablets

Asus has also announced a ton of new devices - a number of Android-powered tablet and phablets at IFA 2013, Berlin. Asus did not announced smartphone but the new Tranformer Pad, MeMO Pad 10, MeMO Pad 8 and Fonepad 7.

The new Transformer Pad has dropped the "Infinity" naming, it is a Nvidia Tegra 4 powered device - 1.9 GHz quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU and 72-core GeForce GPU. The tablet has a 10.1" IGZO-TFT IPS display with 2560 x 1600 resolution similar to the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition). The display comes with manual colour control too (white balance and saturation).



The Transformer Pad TF701T has metal body measures at 8.9 mm thich and weighs 585 g. The tablet has 5 MP rear camera with 1080p HDR video recording and 1.2 MP front camera. It also features dual speakers with SonicMaster technology. The tablet can output UHD video over a wired HDMI connection or mirror its screen wirelessly thanks to the Miracast protocol. The Mobile dock enables USB 3.0 connectivity. This dock also features a full QWERTY keyboard in the usual Transformer manner and boosts the battery life to a whopping 17 hours (up from 13 hours) (also it adds an SDXC card slot).

[IFA 2013] Samsung announces Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear and refreshed Galaxy Note 10.1

Samsung has officially announced 3 new Galaxy products - Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear and refreshed Galaxy Note 10.1.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been rumored for a long time, and finally Samsung has unveiled it today at IFA 2013 in Berlin.


The Galaxy Note 3 has a new leather back instead of plastic back cover, the device sports a 5.7" Full HD Super AMOLED display. It will be powered by either a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor (LTE) or 1.9 GHz octa-core Exynos processor (non-LTE). The third generation phablet has 3 GB of RAM with 32/64 GB expandable storage. Other specs include a 13 MP camera which capable for 4K UHD video recording at 30fps, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a 3,200 mAh battery. The Galaxy Note 3 may available in Malaysia on 25th of September in Jet Black, Classic White, and Blush Pink.

[IFA 2013] Sony unveils Xperia Z1 with QX lens-style cameras, will be available in Malaysia in first week of October

As expected, Sony has unveiled the Xperia Z1 alongside with two QX lens-style cameras at IFA 2013 yesterday and Southest Asia regional launch in Malaysia today.

The Xperia Z1 is the latest flagship device from Sony after the Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra. Inside the slim 8.5 mm body, the Xperia Z1 has a large 1/2.3" sensor which is 70% larger than the sensors on most phones and Sony achieved it without sacrificing the body and design of the phone.



Sony Xperia Z1 camera uses all-Sony tech - f/2.0 Sony G lens, Sony Exmor RS sensor and Sony BIONZ image processor.

[IFA 2013] Alcatel announces One Touch Idol Alpha and One Touch Hero

Alcatel has just announced the One Touch Idol Alpha and One Touch Hero, both devices will be showcased at the upcoming IFA 2013 scheduled to start this Friday, 6th of September.

The Alcatel One Touch Alpha has a 4.7" 720p IPS LCD display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. Other specs include 16 GB non-expandable storage, 13 MP rear camera capable for 1080p video recording, 1.3 MP front-facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery.

Acer Liquid S2 is the first 4K-capable smartphone

We thought that the Sony Xperia Z1 will be the first smartphone with 4K video recording but it seems that Acer has jumped the gun announcing the first smartphone with 4K video recording support - the Liquid S2.



The Acer Liquid S2 has a 6" Full HD IPS display (368 ppi) covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone has a 3,300 mAh battery and it has 16 GB internal storage with 128 GB microSD card supported for further memory expansion.

HTC Desire 601 and Desire 300 are now official

Previously we told you that the HTC Zara will be named as Desire 601 and there's an unknown HTC smartphone leaked with slim profile. Today, HTC has announced these two smartphones - Desire 601 and Desire 300.

The Desire 601 (Zara) aims to bring some high-tech specs to the mid-range, while the new Desire 300 is an entry-level smartphone.



The HTC Desire 601 has some similar specs to the Desire 600 dual-SIM, which include a 4.5" qHD display, 1.4 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 2,100 mAh battery and it has a 9.88 mm profile.

HTC announces blue One and One mini

HTC has announced new colour for the HTC One and One mini. The new colour called Vivid Blue, it will available this quarter but we're not sure whether it will enter Malaysian markets or not.



No specs changed on the blue HTC One except running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, which is same as the red One. Also, HTC has added new blue option to the One mini, will the One mini available in red too?
